Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi is facing the challenge of getting a vote of confidence from the House. Tehreek-e-Insaf also has the support of 10 members of Muslim League-Q. Thus the government alliance in Punjab has the support of 190 members.

While in Punjab, the opposition alliance also has the support of 180 members. Including 167 members of the Muslim League-N, 7 members of the People’s Party, 5 independent members and one member of the Rahe-e-Haq Party.

Speaker Punjab Assembly Sabtain Khan has suspended 18 members of the assembly of PML-N. These suspended members have been banned from participating in 15 meetings. PML-N has challenged this move of the Speaker in Lahore High Court.

According to the rules of procedure. 18 Members of PML-N can cast their votes in the Chief Minister’s vote of confidence.

Among the suspended members are Mian Abdul Rauf, Samiullah Khan, Malik Abdul Waheed, Saba Sadiq, Raheela Khadim Hussain, Rabia Nusrat, Rabia Farooqui, Zeb Nisaa Awan, Kanwal Liaquat Advocate, Gulnaz Princess, Nafisa Amin, Muhammad Afzal, Adil Bakhsh, Rahat. Afza, Sambal Malik Hussain, Sadia Nadeem and Zeeshan Rafique are among those suspended.
