A news website called Fact Focus has reported about Ayesha Amjad. Wife of former Army Chief of Pakistan Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa. That FBR asked her for details on assets. Investigative journalist Amara Shah has written in her report. That there was correspondence between FBR and Qamar Javed Bajwa’s wife Ayesha Amjad from 2016 to 2020. FBR asked Ayesha Amjad for submission of tax return 2014-15. And details of assets in excess of income but nothing was disclose.
The report claims that after the FBR found out who they were. The FBR stopped making further inquiries and thus their assets kept increasing one after the other. Fact Focus contacted DG ISPR several times in this regard. But no response was give-n.

Earlier, the FBR kept questioning the source of income. Concealment of property and transfer of property as gifts. While Ayesha Amjad could not satisfy the agency. He said that the assets were transfer to him as a gift from the wealth statement of the husband. But he could not say which appropriate channel was use for this. Rather, she was first registered as a filer on 10 August 2016.

Ayesha Amjad disclosed seven assets worth Rs 6 crore 62 lakh 61 thousand 15 in her wealth statement for the year 2016. There was no description of these assets. Apart from this, gifts of 5 crore 60 lakh and 4 crore 70 rupees were also report-ed.
On December 6, 2016, FBR wrote a letter to the wife of former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa requesting her to submit the tax returns for 2014-15. Another letter was written on January 30, 2018 stating That in 2016 they have declared assets of more than 6 crore 62 lakhs while they had no assets in the previous year. They should confirm the income received by themselves from gifts and other sources and provide the receipts to the institution.

On 2 April 2018, Ayesha Amjad replied to FBR’s demand that she had no income of her own before 2016 as all her assets and properties were mentioned in the wealth statement of her husband General Qamar Javed Bajwa. It was the year 2016 when his assets first started to generate an annual income of Rs 6 crore 96 lakh 9600. Hence separate income tax was deposit in his name as required. While no response was give-n on gifts or other means.
On April 2, 2018, the FBR again wrote a reply letter asking that a copy of the cross check and the statement of the personal bank accounts of the spouses be submit to verify the amount received as a gift so that the investigation can proceed.
Ayesha Amjad then gave a round answer. And said that she had mistakenly written off the husband’s assets to other sources.
Fact Focus says that Ayesha Amjad bought a 4-marla property from a 57-year-old man named Rab Nawaz in 2018. This Rab Nawaz registered his NTN on June 27, 2018, while earlier this person had zero tax.
On this, Ayesha Amjad told the FBR that they have disclosed all the assets as per the requirement, now this matter should be abandon and this notice should be drop.
Similarly, in 2020, Ayesha Amjad was ask for documentary evidence of tax deductions and warned to clarify the position, several reminders were give-n in this regard and finally the inquiry was closed on 24 December 2020.
