Lt Gen Azhar Abbas and Lt Gen Faiz Hameed were among the most senior officers sent by GHQ to appoint the Army Chief.
According to sources, Lt. Gen. Azhar Abbas was retiring on April 27, 2023. Corps Commander Bahawalpur Lt Gen Faiz Hameed has now also decided to retire prematurely, Lt Gen Faiz Hameed’s retirement is on 30 April 2023.
