The total number of members in the Punjab Assembly is 371. The total number of PML-N members in the
House was 165, out of which one defector Faisal Niazi has tendered his resignation to the Speaker Punjab Assembly.

The Speaker Punjab Assembly has not yet sent the resignation of Faisal Niazi to the Election Commission.
Thus, at present the number of PML-N members in the Punjab Assembly is 164 while that of Pakistan Peoples
Party is 7, Independents 4 and Rah-e-Haq Party.
One member belongs to the current coalition government, bringing the total to 176.
On the other hand, the total number of PTI members was 183, out of which 25 deviant members were de-
seated, leaving the remaining 158 PTI members.
The PML-Q, an ally of the PTI, has 10 members, while the total number of members of the opposition alliance is 168.
An independent member, Chaudhry Nisar, has not yet decided or announced his support for either of the
ruling and opposition coalitions.
At present the House of the Punjab Assembly can be considered to have 369 members and a simple majority
of 186 members is required to form a government.
If there is a House of 369 then a simple majority would require 185 votes. Does not even have a simple majority.
In the second count, the one who has the largest number of members in the House will be elect Leader of
the House.
Hamza Shahbaz currently has a lead of 8 members and the number game in the election of the Leader of the
House is in favor of Hamza Shahbaz.
